O Jon Jones' dominance over Stipe Miocic No. UFC 309, held last Saturday (16), continues to raise opinions in the world of MMA. Although the future of the heavyweight champion (up to 120,2 kg) is still uncertain, Chael Sonnen e Daniel Cormier imagined how 'Bones' would fare against a potential rival who is no longer in the UFC.

During the 'Good Guy/Bad Guy' show, hosted by Sonnen and Cormier, the commentator duo recalled that, before Jones moved up a weight class, Francis Ngannou reigned among the UFC heavyweights. The former rival of Anderson Silva argued that 'Bones' technical ability and adaptable style would give him a big advantage over the Cameroonian, even though he was lighter.

“Looking back, you know what Jon would have done with Francis Ngannou“Now, with that perspective, Jon would have dismantled that big guy. I mean, I’m just sharing with you. This is a heavyweight’s nightmare. Jon’s not a heavyweight; Jon’s fighting like a heavyweight. There’s a huge difference,” Sonnen said.

Cormier, who has faced Jones twice, agreed with Chael Sonnen and complemented the analysis with praise for his former rival's wrestling. The Olympic medalist highlighted the impressive way in which 'Bones' took Miocic down and punished the challenger on the ground.

“Yeah, man, Francis would have had a problem with Jones. He took Stipe down and just laid waste to him. He literally picked him up by the neck, swung his leg behind him and threw him to the ground. He gave him a power punch and just laid waste to the ground.” Daniel Cormier.

Jon Jones e Francis Ngannou almost faced each other in the UFC. At the time that 'Bones' announced his change of weight class, the Cameroonian was still the heavyweight champion. However, the 'Predator' chose to leave the UFC and signed with the PFL, where he currently holds the belt.
