Known for being the first fighter to defeat Alex Poatán in an MMA fight, Quemuel Ottoni was punished by the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) for disciplinary reasons. The athlete was scheduled to fight for a UFC contract in the 'Contender Series', but gave up at the last minute. Although he has not stepped into the octagon, the São Paulo native is temporarily suspended for using a prohibited substance.
According to the American website 'MMA junkie', Quemuel's test showed he had used clomiphene, a substance used to increase testosterone levels. The disciplinary action will be decided at the next monthly NAC meeting scheduled for December 17. In addition to the Brazilian, three other fighters were also punished.

Quemuel Ottoni's withdrawal
Ottoni was scheduled to fight Kody Steele on September 24, but minutes before his entrance into the octagon, he informed the organization that he no longer wanted to compete. Through a video on social media, Quemuel claimed that he could not fight due to psychological problems.
“I ended up not fighting after having a lot of anxiety, adrenaline, freezing… It was a mix of everything, the anxiety, seeing the camera, seeing the cutman doing my hands, the people I saw the most, and that’s it,” said the former welterweight champion (up to 77kg) of the Jungle Fight.
At 32 years old, Quemuel Ottoni has a record of 12 wins and only three losses. The fighter, who has been in the LFA, was champion of Jungle Fight and signed a contract with the PFL, but did not debut. In addition to the fight in the Contender Series, Quemuel has 12 other fights canceled in his career.
