The fight between welterweights (up to 77 kg.) Vincent Luque e Nick Diaz has been definitively cancelled. Scheduled for the UFC 310, the last pay-per-view of the year in December, the fight will not take place due to problems with the former Strikeforce welterweight champion (up to 77 kg.), who was replaced by Themba Gorimbo. Although a specific reason was not given, this is the second time the fight has not materialized. Originally scheduled for UFC Abu Dhabi, in August of this year, the fight Was canceled at this time due to Diaz's 'travel problems'.
In an interview with the North American website MMA Fighting, Luque showed empathy with his older brother Nate diaz, who has been experiencing long hiatuses in his professional career for more than a decade.
“I don’t know exactly why (it was canceled). I saw that video of him on the streets and he didn’t look good. And more than anything, I hope his family and him are taking care of himself. I hope he recovers and gets back to his best possible state,” Luque said.

The video Luque is referring to went viral earlier this month. In it, a man who looks similar to Diaz is seen sitting on a sidewalk, apparently trying to set grass on fire. The fighter has not publicly commented on the incident.

With only one fight held in the last ten years, Nick Diaz was knocked out by Robbie Lawler in September 2021, in UFC 266. Since then, the American has not returned to the octagon.
