Jorge Masvidal names Conor McGregor and Leon Edwards as ideal rivals for UFC return

Former holder of the 'BMF' belt and extremely popular figure among fans, Leon edwards has been planning his return to MMA after about a year and a half of retirement and already has two preferred targets in mind to face upon his return to the octagon.

In an interview with 'MMA Junkie', Masvidal, who is preparing to return to the UFC event in Miami, scheduled to take place in April 2025, reaffirmed his desire to face Conor McGregor, although he considers the duel unlikely to take place.

“I wish it were Conor McGregor, because I heard he also wants to fight on the same date. He never mentioned my name because he knows I would rip his head off. If he and the UFC make that mistake, I will rip his head off in Miami in April, but I don't know if he wants to. He knows I will break him and embarrass him. I will not knock him down. I will trade with him and knock him out of orbit. He never mentioned my name for a reason,” he teased.

Knowing the unlikelihood of facing Conor McGregor, Jorge masvidal has another plan in mind: a duel against the former welterweight champion (up to 77,1 kg) Leon edwards.

“They are saying that Conor McGregor maybe he wants to, but I'm calm. If he wants to, great, I'll kill him. If not, Leon edwards. He and I have history and it's time to resolve it. He doesn't have a fight scheduled, nor do I. Let's sign the contract and I'll break his face", he concluded.
