The Diego lopes, reserve in the last featherweight belt fight (up to 65,7 kg) for an opportunity to face Alexander Volkanovsky in early 2025 it doesn't seem to have had much effect on the former champion.
In a video published on his official YouTube channel, the former featherweight champion (up to 65,7 kg) ruled out the possibility of facing the Brazilian at the current moment and guaranteed that he will fight for the belt in his next fight.

Former champion and considered one of the greatest featherweights in history, Alexander Volkanovsky was knocked out and dethroned by Ilia Topuria in February last year. Having not fought since, the Australian is preparing for a rematch against the current champion, who recently defended his title by knocking out Max Holloway No. UFC 308, in October.
With Volkanovski in the crosshairs, Diego lopes had a meteoric rise in the Ultimate. After losing his debut in May last year, the Brazilian based in Mexico has now won five consecutive matches in the organization, the last of which was over Brian ortega In September.
