Much was expected from the fight between Jake Paul e Mike Tyson. After all, the YouTuber who has been showing great evolution in the noble art would face one of the greatest knockout artists in the history of boxing. But, for the critics on duty, what was seen (beyond the buttocks of a 58-year-old man) was a 'lukewarm' eight-round clash with a lackluster points victory for Paul.
Watching a 'plastered' Tyson face Paul raised the possibility that the fight was rigged, as the former heavyweight champion did not hit his opponent as hard as he hit the pads in the training videos.

“People are like, ‘Oh yeah, it’s rigged because look at him on the pads, but he didn’t do that in the fight,’ because someone’s hitting back, you idiots. People don’t realize my power, my jab, my speed, my skill and my footwork to get out of the way of those punches, and then all of a sudden he’s literally throwing them in the air. He can’t throw those punches at me,” Paul said angrily on his YouTube channel.
Although the fight with Tyson was not at all exciting for almost everyone who watched it, Paul says that boxing is like any other sport, with good days and bad days. But the YouTuber stirred up a bit of controversy by saying that most people wanted him to lose.
“I mean, what do they want? They just want me to lose. That’s the only way they would have thought it would be fun. That’s wrestling. That’s sports. Sometimes you have NFL games where they score 10 points apiece and it’s f*cking boring. If I had knocked Mike out, they would have still hated it and been like, ‘Jake’s a f*cking asshole.’ They’re literally finding any reason to hate in any part of this, so it’s not as simple as, ‘I didn’t like that,’” he argued.
Paul was impressed with Tyson's defense during the 16-minute fight. In addition to heaping praise on the boxing legend, the YouTuber revealed the only thing he didn't like about that night.
“He was hard to hit, he was elusive. I was missing a lot of punches. I don’t know how he gets out of the way like that. I wish he would have fought better so I could have gotten up more and done more, and he was surviving. That was the only thing I didn’t like,” Paul concluded.
