As much as the achievements of Jon Jones inside the octagon he is considered the best fighter in the history of MMA, for some, his mistakes outside the sport exclude him from that position. It seems to be the case that Tom aspinall, current UFC interim heavyweight champion (up to 120,2 kg).

While he is yet to secure the long-awaited clash with Bones, the Englishman was asked about his rival's achievements during an interview with British journalist Jon Bernard Kairouz, on the YouTube channel Kairouz Bros. When asked who occupies the top position in his ranking of the best in history, Aspinall stated that the position is occupied by Georges St-Pierre.
“GSP (is the greatest of all time). He has never tested positive for steroids,” the fighter said bluntly, then acknowledging that his rival is in second place.

Regarding a possible fight with Jones, Aspinall reaffirmed his interest in facing the linear champion, reducing the matter to behind-the-scenes issues. It is worth noting that Bones has already stated that he has no interest in the fight on several occasions.
“We are in negotiations. We don’t know when the fight will be, but I will be ready to go whenever I want. I am back in the gym now, as always. Until then, I will be improving, so there is no big rush on that. Obviously, I want to fight as soon as possible. But right now, we are just waiting for a meeting,” said the Englishman, in his YouTube channel.

Jon Jones and the doping cases
Jon Jones has been caught in drug tests on several occasions, most notably after winning Daniel Cormier at UFC 214 and the presence of the anabolic steroid Turinabol was confirmed. Previously, his participation in UFC 200 was also withdrawn after the athlete was caught in another test, in which the substance Clomiphene was found.
