Jake Paul did not miss the opportunity to further stir up rivalry with Conor McGregor after condemnation of the star for sexual assault. In a post on social media, the YouTuber and boxer directed harsh criticism at both the Irishman and UFC president Dana White.
“Dana beats his wife. Conor gets convicted of rape. But I’m the bad guy?” Paul wrote on his X (formerly Twitter) profile. Paul’s reference is to an incident that occurred in 2019, when a leaked video showed Dana White assaulting his wife.

Conor's conviction for sexual assault came on Friday (22), after a civil trial in Ireland. A jury found the fighter guilty of sexually assaulting a woman in a luxury hotel in Dublin in 2018, and ordered him to pay €250 (around R$1,5 million) in compensation to the victim.
McGregor has denied the accusations and has already announced that he will appeal the decision. The fighter argues that the encounter with the woman was consensual and that the evidence presented by the prosecution is insufficient.

McGregor sentenced
The story, which takes place in December 2018 in a Dublin hotel, begins at a costume party at a nightclub. The woman, who knew a cousin of McGregor, was invited by the fighter to a party at his hotel. On the way, according to the report, the Irishman allegedly consumed cocaine and offered it to the two women. When they arrived at the hotel, the rooms were separated and the alleged victim was left alone with McGregor.
It was at this moment that, according to the complaint, the acts of sexual assault occurred. The woman claims that the fighter forced and assaulted her, uttering phrases that referred to the defeat in front of Khabib Nurmagomedov, finally, months before. After the incident, she reports having few memories and having been taken home in a taxi.
