The news of the civil conviction of Conor McGregor for sexually assaulting a woman at a luxury hotel in Dublin, Ireland, broke the internet this Friday (22). In addition to Jake Paul, who used social networks to attack 'The Notorious' and even UFC president Dana White, plus two 'old acquaintances' of the controversial Irish fighter reacted after the sentence: Khabib Nurmagomedov e Dustin poirier.

Conor McGregor also spoke publicly after being convicted by an Irish civil jury. In a statement released on Friday, shortly after the sentencing, the UFC star expressed his dissatisfaction with the decision and promised to appeal in the second instance.
McGregor sentenced
The story, which takes place in December 2018 in a Dublin hotel, begins at a costume party at a nightclub. The woman, who knew a cousin of McGregor, was invited by the fighter to a party at his hotel. On the way, according to the report, the Irishman allegedly consumed cocaine and offered it to the two women. When they arrived at the hotel, the rooms were separated and the alleged victim was left alone with McGregor.
It was at this moment that, according to the complaint, the acts of sexual assault occurred. The woman claims that the fighter forced and assaulted her, uttering phrases that referred to the defeat in front of Khabib Nurmagomedov, finally, months before. After the incident, she reports having few memories and having been taken home in a taxi.
Rivalries with Khabib and Poirier
The rivalry between Khabib Nurmagomedov e Conor McGregor was one of the most intense in MMA history. It began with McGregor's taunts before UFC 229, culminating in Khabib's dominant fourth-round submission victory. After the fight, a full-scale brawl erupted, involving teams on both sides. The tension between the two was marked by personal insults and cultural differences, solidifying their confrontation as one of the most memorable and controversial moments in the sport
The rivalry between McGregor and Dustin poirier is marked by ups and downs. The two first fought at UFC 178 in 2014, with McGregor winning by knockout in the first round. Years later, in 2021, they faced each other at UFC 257, where Poirier scored a second-round TKO victory, tying the score.
The trilogy was completed in UFC 264, also in 2021, but it ended tragically: McGregor suffered a broken leg in the first round, giving Poirier the victory by medical stoppage. Despite the defeat in the trilogy, Conor continued to fire verbal attacks, while 'The Diamond' sought to maintain his stance focused on the sport.
