Bellator's current situation after its acquisition by PFL last year has been a source of great concern for many of the organization's renowned athletes, once considered the second largest in MMA worldwide. In recent days, multiple champions have taken to social media to vent about the lack of fights.

Featherweight champion (up to 65,7 kg) and considered by many to be the greatest fighter in Bellator history, Patrick Pitbull blamed the PFL for the fact that he only fought once in 2024 and questioned the organization's priorities.

“I haven’t fought since February. I wanted to fight three times this year, but they told me to wait until December 31st and I had to find out online that my opponent was facing another fighter. I bring people to train, spend money on the camp and don’t fight. They offer tens of millions to social media personalities and semi-retired fighters, while cutting 90% of the roster and telling fighters who were earning 30+30 that they are too expensive. How do you want to become number 1 in the world if you don’t schedule events and don’t pay the fighters? I’m very worried about the future of Bellator and MMA in general,” Patrício said.

Another champion who used social media to criticize the PFL for Bellator's current situation was bantamweight (up to 61,2 kg) Patcht Mix, who watched the event in which he would defend his title against the Brazilian Leandro Higo, just over a week ago, was cancelled.

“I have been training a lot for the last six months and nothing. This is frustrating at the peak of my career and I had my November fight canceled. Now again I have been told that my January fight in Dubai has been canceled. I am the best in the world and I want to fight to prove it,” he lamented.
