“It’s a horrible position for everyone, for everyone involved… The best thing he can do, most likely, is to get back on track toward a common goal. Why not fight me? Why not train to fight me?” the fighter said.
Chandler's statement references McGregor's official statement. After being convicted, the first two-time UFC champion in history issued a statement in which he stated his interest in spending time with his family, as well as expressing his interest in returning to the octagon. He has not fought professionally since July 2021, when he fractured his left leg in a fight against Dustin poirier.
People want to hear from me, I needed time. I know I made mistakes. Six years ago, I should have never responded to her outreaches. I should have shut the party down. I should never have stepped out on the woman I love the most in the world. That's all on me.
Not much nor I…

Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler
It is worth remembering that a duel between Conor McGregor e Michael chandler was something planned for many years by the Ultimate. The two were the coaches of the 31st season of The Ultimate Fighter and the fight between the two was scheduled for UFC 303, which took place in June this year.
The Irishman withdrew from the card with just two weeks' notice due to a fractured little toe on his left foot and the fight was replaced by a rematch between Alex Poatán e Jiri Prochazka. There is no official date for the fighter's return, but he is expected in 2025.
