The defeat for Petr yan last Saturday (23), the first since moving up to bantamweight (up to 61,2 kg), removed Deiveson Figueiredo the dream of a second UFC belt, but that doesn't stop the Brazilian from being speculated for big fights in the category.
Former light heavyweight (up to 93 kg) and heavyweight (up to 120,2 kg) champion and current UFC commentator, Daniel Cormier proposed that Deiveson face another duel between former champions of the organization. This time, the opponent proposed by 'DC' is Dominick Cruz.

“I’m going with Deiveson (Figueiredo) against (Dominick) Cruz. Dom said he wants one more fight. He wants tough fight after tough fight. You have all these champions and people criticize me for saying that bantamweight might be the toughest division of all. It’s ridiculous. When you have that many champions, that’s true,” he said.
Two-time UFC bantamweight champion and considered by many to be the greatest name in the history of the division, Dominick Cruz has not seen action since August 2022, when he was brutally knocked out by Marlon Vera. Haunted by serious injuries, the former champion has only fought four times in the last eight years, with two wins and two losses.
On the other side, Deiveson Figueiredo suffered his first defeat as a bantamweight in the main fight of the UFC Macau, last Saturday (23). The result interrupted a sequence of three victories for the Brazilian in the division.
