On a weekend that was supposed to be marked by victories and achievements, the MMA World: World Championship, held in Russia, was marked by a shocking scene. During an atomweight fight (up to 47,6 kg) between Russians Ekaterina Demina and Galina Malytseva, a terrible accident left the former with an exposed fracture in her elbow.

The fight was a rematch, and Demina sought to repeat the success she had achieved in the first confrontation. However, fate had a tragic twist in store. While trying to defend a takedown applied by Malytseva, the fighter rested her right arm on the ground, causing a brutal twist in her elbow. The image of the dislocated and deformed joint shocked everyone present.

The fight was immediately stopped and declared a TKO by medical stoppage. Eketerina Demina was quickly treated by medical staff and taken to a hospital, where she underwent surgery. The extent of the injury and recovery time have not yet been released.
