Fired from UFC for biting on debut, Brazilian has date set for return to MMA

Nine months after biting his arm André Mascot After making his UFC debut and, consequently, being fired from the organization, Igor Severino has a confirmed date and opponent to resume his career. After serving his suspension, the 21-year-old fighter from Pará will debut in Oktagon MMA, a Czech organization, in a duel against the Danish Jonas Magard on December 29.

Signed by the UFC through the Contender Series in 2023, Igor Severino made his debut in the organization in March of this year in a duel between undefeated Brazilians against André Mascot. In the second round of the eventful fight, Mascote told the referee that he had been bitten by Igor. With the mark of his teeth on his opponent's arm, Severino was disqualified from the duel, suffering the first defeat of his career. In addition, the fighter from Pará was promptly fired from the Ultimate, fined and suspended for nine months by the Nevada Athletic Commission.

With his suspension served, Igor Severino is ready to resume his career at the event that marks the end of the 2024 calendar of Oktagon MMA, the largest Czech event and one of the main ones on the European continent. The event will take place at the O2 Arena, in Prague, capital of the Czech Republic, and will feature three title fights in the lightweight (up to 70,3 kg), light heavyweight (up to 93 kg) and bantamweight (up to 61,2 kg) categories.

Igor Severino has a main record of eight wins and one loss, with all of his victories achieved in the fast lane, including four knockouts and four submissions. Eleven years older than the Brazilian, Jonas Magard has 11 wins and six losses in his career and has won five of his last six fights.
