In your YouTube channel, the fighter reflected on his position in the UFC 310 and speculated as to why his clash with Movsar Evloev has been reduced to the penultimate fight of the preliminary card.

“I don’t know if I should have taken offense to the placement on the fight card or look at the glass half full. I think that’s the best way to try to look at everything in life. I was a little confused by it, of course. I think they have their reason for what they did is what it is,” he said.

Still apparently upset, the fighter downplayed the situation and believes that a good performance against Evloev will be fundamental for his future in the company.

“At the end of the day, it’s not my organization. I don’t call the shots. I just go out there and compete, and it’s up to me to go out there and prove these guys wrong that I’m a main card fighter. I think people are going to be in for a big surprise, and the UFC is going to realize, ‘We made a huge mistake not putting this on the main card,’” he concluded.

Aljamain Sterling is not the only one

Sterling isn't the only former champion to occupy the preliminary bouts. Chris Weidman, former middleweight title holder and Aljamain's training partner, faces Erik Anders in the fifth fight of the night. The two should have faced each other in UFC 309, but Anders had health problems just hours before the duel.
