The champion's injury Belal Muhammad | brought an unexpected gift to MMA fans: the clash between the undefeated Ian Gary e Shavkat Rakhmonov, whose winner will be the main challenger for the Ultimate welterweight title (up to 77,1 kg). Zahabi, who became known for training Georges St-Pierre for years at the Canadian gym Tristar, said during a video on his YouTube channel believe in the victory of the Kazakh against the Irish.
“I think Shavkat is going to win. He has relentless pressure, the man is an animal. He doesn’t have the best defense, but when he gets hit he goes forward, gets up like a zombie and keeps going. He has incredible toughness and resilience. His relentless pressure, I think it will be too much (for Garry),” he said.
Zahabi also said that Rakhmonov will lose his unbeaten record at some point.
However, the coach believes Rakhmonov's aggressive and careless fighting style will eventually tarnish the Kazakh's undefeated record.
“He gets hit… he doesn’t have the best defense. One day it’s going to catch up with him. One day maybe we’ll see Shavkat get stopped or really hurt or lose a fight. I just don’t think it’s going to be this time. I just don’t think it’s going to be Ian Gary”He concluded.
