After end his bantamweight reign (up to 61,2 kg) in 2023, aljamain sterling is looking to win his second belt, now in the featherweight division (up to 65,7 kg). But to get closer to a title fight, the Jamaican needs to overcome the undefeated Russian Movsar Evloev, something that, according to his training partner Merab Dvalishvili, it will not be a difficult task.
In a video recently posted on Sterling's YouTube channel, Dvalishvili spoke about the return of 'Funk Master' and his preparation for the fight. The current bantamweight champion, who participated in his teammate's training camp, admitted to having faced difficulties in ground training and predicted that Sterling will 'crush' Evloev.

“Aljo is really strong. Now he did several rounds of jiu-jitsu. He did two rounds with me. I couldn’t do anything. He got on top of me, controlled me, crushed me. That means Aljo will crush his opponent. I have a lot of respect for him.” Movsar Evloev, but that's how the fight game works. The strongest guy wins. I'm very confident in Aljo because he's focused and he feels really strong," Merab said.
Sterling made a convincing featherweight debut by dominating the veteran Calvin kattar in three rounds in the UFC 300, held last April in Las Vegas. Now, already in the top 10 of the division, the fighter faces Movsar Evloev, number five in the ranking and undefeated in his career.
