In the midst of this, Rickson Gracie's son spoke out on the matter. In an interview with the North American website MMA Fighting, he downplayed the relevance of the matter, questioning the reason for the criticism.

“I find it funny because people always have something to say. It’s interesting that the people who complain about something like that probably don’t even pay for the pay-per-view, they’re streaming it for free. They steal the pay-per-view and they’re the ones complaining about where the fight is. I don’t see why it’s such a big deal, obviously, because I don’t really care about that kind of situation. The sooner the better, really. I can move on with my life after that,” said the fighter.

aljamain sterling, former bantamweight champion (up to 61,2 kg.) and Chris Weidman, former middleweight king (up to 83,9 kg.) make up the seventh and fifth fights of the night, respectively. The Jamaican, who faces Movsar Evloev, arrived at publicly demonstrate his discontent. The Russian also downplayed the situation.
