On the evening of last Wednesday (4), through a publication on social media, Dana White confirmed that Islam makhachev e Arman Tsarukyan face each other for the lightweight belt (up to 70,3 kg) in the main fight of the UFC 311, the first numbered event of 2025, scheduled for January 18, in Los Angeles, United States.
Champion since October 2022, when he finished Charles of the Bronx in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, Islam makhachev seeks to become the first fighter to defend the lightweight belt four times. The Russian defended the title twice against Alexander Volkanovsky and, more recently, against Dustin poirier, at UFC 302, in June this year.
