“This fight makes sense. (He’s ranked) right above me, so that’s completely normal. Ahead of me are (Jon) Jones, Tom (Aspinall), I don’t know exactly what’s going to happen. So, yeah, it makes sense. It’s like a semifinal,” the fighter said during the UFC 310 media day.

Despite coming off a strong knockout victory against Sergei Spivac, Gane needs another strong performance to try and change the negative perception left after his loss to Jon Jones at UFC 285. It's worth noting that he won his first fight against Volkov and even became interim champion in 2021, defeating Derrick Lewis.
