The 'executioner' of Brazilians Chris Weidman failed to beat Erik Anders this Saturday (7), at the traditional T-Mobile Arena, in Las Vegas (USA). In the fight for combined weight (up to 88,4 kg.) for the preliminary card, Anders got the knockout in the second round after a brutal sequence on the ground when dominating Weidman.

With the victory, Erik Anders who was once an American football player, confirms a record of 17 wins, nine losses and one draw.

Weidman has now suffered his eighth career defeat. His executioner Anderson Silva, Vitor belfort e Lyoto Machida has another 15 victories.

Weidman started applying kicks to keep distance from Anders, who immediately tried a dive, but found nothing. Soon after, Anders managed to press the former champion against the fence and started a good sequence, but in the middle he applied an illegal knee.

The referee stopped the fight, but didn't take any points away, he just gave Anders a hard time. At the end of the first round, Weidman landed a right cross that knocked his opponent down and went for ground and pound that even cut Anders' eyebrow.

In the second round, Anders managed to get a takedown early on and dominated the fight on the ground. He punished Weidman on the ground with hard punches. The referee saw that Weidman was unable to react and stopped the fight.
