Vincent Luque won Themba Gorimbo with a triangle choke in the first round, in one of the best performances of his career during the preliminary card of UFC 310, in Las Vegas. With the triumph, the welterweight (up to 77,1 kg.) returned to the winning column and recovered from the setback against Joaquin buckley in March.
Finishing started after a standing strike
Luque started the fight by being active and launching several feints towards his opponent. During the first few seconds, the two exchanged leg kicks, until the Brazilian connected with a strong punch while standing, which took Gorimbo to the ground. From there, he landed a perfect arm triangle.

The move is a trademark of the fighter, who has won several fights with the submission. This time, the adjustment of the arm triangle caused Gorimbo to lose consciousness and pass out. This was the Brazilian's 13th quick win in the organization, trailing only Matt Brown in the welterweight division (up to 77,1 kg).
During the interview, still inside the octagon, Vicente challenged Jorge masvidal for a UFC fight in 2025.
