Following his victory at UFC 310 , Alexandre Pantoja set his sights on the recently retired Demetrious Johnson as his next challenge. Despite the American refusing the fight and remaining firm in his decision to hang up his gloves, the champion reinforced his challenge, saying it was about finding out who is the best of the best in the division. Although Pantoja's attempt didn't catch Johnson's attention, a familiar rival may have taken the bait from the Brazilian.

Deiveson Figueiredo made a point of commenting on a post on the 'Sexto Round' Instagram page, which juxtaposed statements from Pantoja and Demetrious Johnson about a possible fight between the athletes. The 'God of War' offered himself up to face the current champion and reminded everyone that he was able to beat him in the UFC.
“I am the king, you know that. I am available. I was the only one to defeat you in the division. I am available, call me, let’s play,” wrote Figueiredo alongside several fire emojis.
Deiveson Figueiredo and Alexandre Pantoja faced each other in 2019, and on that occasion, Figueiredo won by unanimous decision. In the following rounds, the 'God of War' became the flyweight champion. Currently, Deiveson competes in the bantamweight category, where he has accumulated three wins and one loss.
