In the post-event press conference, the welterweight (up to 77,1 kg) did not rule out a fight with his compatriot, but made it clear that he hopes to see at least one more victory from his potential opponent.

“If I have the opportunity to fight in Brasília, I would be delighted. I don't live there anymore, but it's still my home. Carlos Prates is a great fighter, I really enjoy watching him fight. But I've already come a long way and now I only want to face top 10 fighters. So, win one more, get into the top 10 and we'll go at it,” said the fighter when questioned by SUPER LUTAS.
The victory last Saturday (7) was special for Luque. Now, the Brazilian is the second fighter with the most wins by stoppage in the history of the category, behind only Matt Brown. Despite showing himself willing to fight Prates, he challenged Jorge Masvidal while still inside the octagon.
Carlos Prates is currently enjoying a great run of form. Since securing his spot in the company through the Contender Series, the Fighting Nerds member has been on a three-fight winning streak, all by knockout. In his last fight, the Brazilian defeated Neil Magny in the first round.
