In the clash of undefeated fighters at UFC 310 , Shavkat Rakhmonov lived up to his favorite status and defeated Ian Garry by unanimous decision. This result marked the end of the Kazakh's 100% lethality rate, as he had to rely on the judges' scores for the first time in his professional career.
Despite winning, many fans were disappointed with the fighter, as his performance fell far short of expectations. Daniel Cormier , the former UFC fighter and commentator, may have the answer to that.

While sharing his immediate reactions to the UFC 310 fights on his YouTube channel, Cormier said he thought the Kazakh fighter was far from his best and claimed the fighter suffered an injury before the fight.
“ Shavkat Rakhmonov didn’t look like himself, although I later found out he had an injury. I think he may have torn his medial collateral ligament before the fight. With a torn ligament in your knee, you’re not going to look like the killer you looked like in previous fights.”
With his victory over Ian Garry , Shavkat Rakhmonov achieved his 19th career win and is now set to compete for the welterweight title (up to 77 kg) in his next fight against champion Belal Muhammad.
