Heavyweight prodigy (up to 120,2 kg) Tallison Teixeira will finally make his UFC debut. The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) confirmed the presence of the undefeated Brazilian MMA fighter on the UFC 312 card , which takes place on February 8th in Sydney, Australia. His opponent will be New Zealander Justin Tafa.

With seven wins and no losses on his record, Teixeira was scheduled to make his UFC debut last Saturday (7), at UFC 310 , but was forced to withdraw from his fight against Lukasz Brzeski due to an injury. A protégé of veteran Lucas Martins, the heavyweight earned his contract with the Ultimate after a brutal knockout over Arthur Lopes at Dana White's Contender Series in September, which impressed the UFC president.
Tafa, for his part, is looking to bounce back from a unanimous decision loss to Karl Williams in his most recent fight earlier this year in Las Vegas. With seven wins and four losses on his record, the New Zealander hasn't won a fight since September 2023, when he defeated Austen Lane in just 82 seconds.
The main event of UFC 312 , taking place at Qudos Bank Arena, will be the middleweight title rematch (up to 83,9 kg) between champion Dricus Du Plessis and former champion Sean Strickland . Meanwhile, Zhang Weili will defend her strawweight title in the co-main event against undefeated challenger Tatiana Suarez.
