In a post on the social network 'X' on the night of last Tuesday (11), Diego Lopes once again challenged former champion Alexander Volkanovski , leaving the choice of date and location in the hands of the Australian.

Diego Lopes' intention to face Alexander Volkanovski is nothing new . However, the Brazilian had received a 'cold shower' after the former champion stated he would only return to the octagon to fight for the title. If Ilia Topuria does indeed vacate the title, the likely outcome is that Diego and Volkanovski will duel for the throne, since the Australian is ranked first and the Brazilian, based in Mexico, is third. Max Holloway , ranked second, was the current champion's last victim and has already suffered three career losses to Volkanovski.
