The recent encounter between Alex Poatan and Jamahal Hill at the UFC Performance Institute continues to generate discussion, especially among fans on social media, who keep teasing the American for refusing to wear the gloves thrown by the Brazilian during the fight. The former champion, however, insists he is not bothered by the jokes.
In a recent interview with reporter Helen Yee's YouTube channel, Hill spoke about the situation, downplayed the 'teasing' and assured that he intends to knock out Poatan and be paid for it in a possible rematch.

“The way they interpret it is the way they interpret it. What people took away from it is that he threw the gloves at me and I should have put them on and stuff like that, but I’m here to get paid. We made a lot of money the first time we fought. We can do it again. Like I told him, we don’t need gloves, because if we were to fight here and now, we would fight. You know what I mean? But I get paid. I’m here to make money. I’m going to knock him out and I’m going to get a check for it,” said the American.
Before even thinking about a rematch with Alex Poatan , however, Jamahal Hill has another former champion to face: Jiri Prochazka . The two will face each other on the main card of UFC 311 , the first numbered event of 2025, on January 18th in Los Angeles, United States.
