PFL promotes trilogy between Fedor Emelianenko's protégé and ex-UFC; winner could face Francis Ngannou

Amidst numerous criticisms from champions like Patrício Pitbull , the PFL seeks to change the landscape of the heavyweight division (up to 120,2 kg). In this context, Vadim Nemkov , former Bellator light heavyweight champion (up to 93 kg), faces Corey Anderson , the current title holder in that category and former UFC fighter.

The two will meet at the Bellator Champions Series, scheduled for January 25, in Dubai. It will be the second fight between the two, who faced off in 2022. The first duel ended in a draw, after a clash of heads. In the rematch, Nemkov emerged victorious by unanimous decision.

Since then, the Russian defeated Yoel Romero and left the division to transition to heavyweight (up to 120,2 kg), while Anderson won the vacant title. Nemkov was expected to face Ante Delija in his next fight, but both had to withdraw.

The winner could be Francis Ngannou's next opponent

Since being signed by the PFL, Francis Ngannou has only had one MMA fight, knocking out Renan Problema in the first round in October of this year. Due to the popularity and high competitive level of the fighters, it is likely that the winner of the bout will be the next opponent of the Cameroonian, by far the biggest name in the organization.
