Bruno Bulldoguinho 's victory over Manel Kape at UFC Tampa , which takes place this Saturday (14), could open the doors for an unprecedented fight for the flyweight belt (up to 56,7kg). According to Andy Garcia, the Brazilian's coach, the expectation is that, if Bruno emerges victorious, he will be the next to challenge Alexandre Pantoja for the category title. And this possible fight carries a unique history, marked by a friendship that, in the future, could turn into a high-level rivalry.
In an exclusive interview with SUPER LUTAS , Garcia revealed a surprising connection between the two athletes.

“Pantoja and Bruno started their UFC journey together at Henry Cejudo ’s house in the United States. There, they learned English, wrestling, and lived the dream of conquering the UFC. They are like brothers, good friends, and trained together for a long time,” said the coach.
Despite their friendship, Garcia has no doubts about his student's determination. According to him, the relationship of respect and friendship between the two could be a decisive factor when they eventually face each other in search of the belt.
“Bruno is not afraid of anyone, least of all Pantoja. That mentality is rare in this division, especially considering they trained together,” he added.
Regarding Bulldoguinho's preparation for the fight against Manel Kape , the coach was full of praise. The coach also commented on his opponent's performance at the weigh-in.
“He is stronger than ever. The weight cut went smoothly and morale is high. Bruno seems to be at his best. Manel made weight, but was a little under 56,7 kg, which caused us some concern, since he has had difficulties in the past. But, in the end, the fight is confirmed”, he said.
Bruno Bulldoguinho's Road to Victory at UFC Tampa
Regarding Kape's fighting style, Andy Garcia recognized the Angolan's qualities. However, when the fight goes to the ground, the coach believes that Bulldoguinho will have the advantage.
“He is one of the best strikers in the division, without a doubt. But Bruno also has heavy hands. I believe he hits harder, as has been clear in his recent victories. Manel talks a lot about his jiu-jitsu, but we have never seen anything so impressive. Bruno is a true master in this aspect. He has an incredible transition game, with elite-level wrestling and jiu-jitsu,” said Garcia.
At 34 years old, Bruno Bulldoguinho has a record of 14 wins, five losses, and two draws. He has already defeated names like Cody Durden and Tyson Nam, and comes into the fight with a four-fight winning streak.
