Fighter who asked Dana White for contract at press conference loses to Brazilian, who signs in his place

In October of this year, in Press conference pre-UFC 308, in Abu Dhabi, Dorobshokh Nabotov gained the spotlight by asking Dana White for a UFC contract. With a record of nine wins and two losses, Matheus Camilo defeated Nabotov by unanimous decision. In addition, the Brazilian ended up signing a contract with the largest MMA organization in the world and is now part of the Brazilian UFC roster. (see below)

The fight was part of an episode of “Dana White: Lookin' for a Fight,” though White declined to attend the live event. The organization's president observed the event remotely via video call.

“I picked the other guy (Camilo). He won the fight, looked great and was the more complete fighter. The other kid looked very one-dimensional and Korean zombie told me he had a lot of problems with him during the week, threatening to pull out of the fight if he didn't get more people in the corner and crazy stuff like that. So everything happened the way it was supposed to," Dana said at the post-fight press conference.UFC Tampa.

With eight career wins, the defeat to Matheus Camilo was Nabotov's first.

Camilo extended his winning streak to six. At the event, the Brazilian controlled his rival and impressed Dana White, who praised the fighter and welcomed him to the organization. At 23 years old, the Brazilian is a promising MMA fighter and began his career in the sport in 2019.
