MMA fighter arrested after being knocked out at Shooto Brazil

Friday night (13) was terrible for Eliel dos Santos. With a record of 40 professional MMA fights, the 39-year-old fighter from Amapá was severely knocked out in a duel against Cleverson Silva at Shooto Brasil 127, held at the Upper Arena, in the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro. Little did he know, however, that the knockout would be the least of his problems that night.

While recovering from the setback, Eliel was approached and detained by agents of the Civil Police and the Federal Police. According to information from G1, the MMA fighter was wanted for assaulting his ex-partner and had an open arrest warrant for domestic violence in Amapá.

According to the Rio de Janeiro Civil Police, Eliel allegedly failed to comply with court orders related to the domestic violence case. The MMA fighter violated the electronic ankle bracelet and did not comply with the protective order that kept him away from the victim.
