“If I was Colby’s corner, I would be yelling at him to stop touching the cut. He’s undoing the cutman’s work by touching it immediately. He was bleeding again before the round started,” the fighter said in a post on X (formerly Twitter) as the fight was underway.

Apparently the comments did not please Sonnen, the young fighter responded harshly, but without losing his good humor.

“Shut up. If I want your opinion, I’ll get it out of you. I’m joking, but I’m not. No, seriously, just joking, but seriously,” Sonnen responded, also on social media.

Subsequently, Hooper, who is coming off a victory against Clay Guida at UFC 311 , tried to downplay the situation.

“Damn, you’re up early. I would never criticize Goat. It was probably hard to see since he was doing it when you guys were coming out of the cage. It was just really bothering me since I consciously try not to touch my face or blow my nose during fights,” he said.
