Things definitely don't seem to be going well for the PFL/Bellator group. According to the current Bellator light heavyweight champion (up to 93 kg), Corey Anderson , his fight with Vadim Nemkov , which was to take place in the heavyweight category (up to 120,2 kg), has been canceled. The two were scheduled to face each other on January 25th, as part of the organization's first-ever event in Dubai.

According to the fighter, who was part of the UFC between 2014 and 2020, the cancellation was caused by the opponent and not by contractual or bureaucratic problems.
“Last minute announcement, guys. The trilogy is not happening. I woke up to a text this morning from PFL and Bellator saying, ‘Vadim refuses to fight you.’ It’s a tough fight for him, as he says. But he wants to stay on the card and fight a lesser opponent. How do you call yourself the #1 pound-for-pound fighter in the organization, but you’re scared to fight someone you’ve already fought twice with seven weeks’ notice. Anyway, you all know me. I’m ready,” the fighter said in a post on X (formerly Twitter) last Saturday (14).
DON'T BE SCARED HOMIE!!

Originally, Nemkov was scheduled to fight Ante Delija , but the fight fell through and Anderson Silva stepped in as a replacement. This would have been their third encounter. The first fight ended in a no contest after a clash of heads. In the second, the Russian won by unanimous decision. Despite the American's statement, the company has not yet publicly commented on the matter and the fight has not been officially canceled.

Vadim Nemkov is one of the organization's top athletes, and in addition to Corey Anderson himself , he has already defeated names like Yoel Romero and Ryan Badder.
PFL is facing difficulties
If confirmed, the cancellation comes at a delicate time for the PFL/Bellator group. Since the official purchase, several champions have publicly complained to the company about not receiving offers for new fights. Patrício Pitbull , for example, even requested the formal release from his contract. More recently, Patchy Mix also made similar statements.
