One month before the fight with Jamahal Hill, Jiri Prochazka takes a swipe at rival after 'treta' with Alex Poatan

Jiri Prochazka e Jamahal hill have a meeting scheduled for January 18th next year in California, USA, in UFC 311, the first numbered event of 2025. However, the light heavyweight fighters (up to 93kg) have been exchanging barbs on social media for some time now. Now, the 'UFC Samurai' has revealed his opinion on his rival's disagreement with Alex Poatán, when the two almost came to blows outside of a professional fight.

O tense chapter happened on the 5th of this month. During a meeting at the UFC Performance Institute (PI), in Las Vegas (USA), Hill approached Poatan and, with a mocking air, said: 'we are not on Twitter', alluding to the frequent jabs between them on social media. Initially, Alex seemed calmer, even greeting Jamahal, but the conversation quickly heated up. The Brazilian then threw down his gloves and challenged the North American to a fight on the spot. Hill's reaction, however, was different than expected: he declined the invitation and walked away. The situation only didn't evolve into a physical confrontation because it was quickly contained by coaches Plínio Cruz and Pablo Sucupira. (see video below)

During an interview with journalist 'Ariel Helwani' this Monday (16), Prochazka said what he thinks about the attitude taken by his next opponent in the UFC.

“If you were a true warrior you would go,” stated the 'Samurai'.

And it didn't end there. Prochazka also commented on what he thought of Hill's statement, who claimed that he didn't face Poatan at the time because he 'fights for make money'.

“I just saw some of the things Jamahal said about going to the Octagon for the money… I don’t need money to fight the champion,” Prochazka concluded.

Both Prochazka and Jamahal were victims of Alex Poatán in the light heavyweight division. The Czech fighter lost the belt for the Brazilian in the UFC 295 and depois the revenge No. UFC 303. Already Hill was knocked out by the champion in the UFC 300.
