You can grab the popcorn, because it involves a possible return of Conor McGregor the activity gained another chapter and an unexpected new direction. In a post on social media on Tuesday morning (16), the former UFC featherweight (up to 65,7 kg) and lightweight (up to 70,3 kg) champion revealed that he was negotiating a boxing match against Logan Paul, brother of Jake Paul, in India.
“The rumours of a fight with Topuria are false. I am in preliminary arrangements with the Ambani family to face Logan Paul in an exhibition boxing match in India. I have already agreed to the terms. I will then seek my return to the Octagon,” wrote the Irishman.
Conor McGregor hasn't fought since July 2021, when he suffered a serious leg injury in the defeat to Dustin poirier. The 'Notorious' even had a fight scheduled against Michael chandler in June of this year, but had to leave the card UFC 303 due to a new injury.
Last month, Conor McGregor was found guilty of sexual assault in a civil lawsuit in Ireland and ordered to pay $257 in damages. Because it is a civil lawsuit, the former UFC champion does not face any criminal charges related to the case.
Elder brother of Jake Paul, Logan Paul is also a YouTuber and has had four exhibition boxing matches, including a draw against legend Floyd Mayweather. In recent years, the American has moved into professional wrestling, where he has enjoyed success in the WWE.
