Former roommate and current declared enemy of Colby covington, Jon Jones did not hide his satisfaction at seeing the welterweight (up to 77,1 kg) brutally defeated by Joaquin buckley in the main fight of UFC Tampa, last Saturday (14).
In a post on social media, Jon Jones mocked the justification used by Colby covington, who blamed Donald Trump's campaign for the lack of training before the duel against Buckley.

“A big salute to Colby covington for missing training to get President Trump ready. We all appreciate the sacrifice. At least he (Trump) saw me win,” wrote the heavyweight champion (up to 120,2 kg), who had the audience of the President-elect of the United States in his victory over Stipe Miocic in November.
Posting Jon Jones amused some fans, but upset others, who said that 'Bones' should not 'stoop' to the level of Colby covington. The heavyweight champion even agreed with these, but stated that he could not miss such an opportunity.
“I know I shouldn’t do this, but it’s so much fun. It’s amazing to watch someone you know hates you fail over and over again,” he replied.
Jones also had to deal with Covington fans who were upset about the post, with one claiming the heavyweight champion "could hardly dream" of accepting a short-notice fight against a "dangerous challenger."
“Yes, I could hardly dream of making such a stupid decision. Being on a losing streak. You’re right I could hardly dream of it,” he countered.
