After the event in Tampa last Saturday, the UFC officially ended its activities in 2024. Even in one of the most profitable years in the company's history, Dana White, CEO of the Ultimate, doesn't seem to have any difficulty in choosing which moment of the year was the most important for the main MMA organization in the world.

“Without a doubt, it has to be the Sphere. I thought that when we did the Sphere, people would flock there to try to do the same – I don’t think anyone would do that, I don’t think anyone would replicate what we did there at that time. If the production team here at the UFC doesn’t win every award that exists on television, then the awards are nonsense,” said the bigwig in an interview with the North American TV channel ESPN MMA.

UFC in the Sphere marked 2024
The futuristic arena was chosen to hold the UFC 306, held in September and which had as its main fight the clash between Merab Dvalishvili and Sean O' Malley. The event also celebrated Mexican Independence Day, and so Esfera brought several immersive videos telling the nation's history.

In total, the amount invested by the organization reached US$ 20 million (R$ 122 million, at the current exchange rate), and even higher amounts were raised from ticket sales alone. Even before the event took place, Dana White declared that he would not return to the arena due to the high amounts paid by the company.
