In an interview with the American YouTube channel Home Of Fight, the fighter spoke about his latest performance and his next steps in the category, which occupies ninth position in the ranking.
“I would like to return in March. If I can get a fight for March, April at the latest, I would like to fight against arnold allen ou Brian ortega. I don't think the loss to Movsar should push me down in the rankings. I almost felt like it should be treated as a win. It's weird to say it like that because it might sound funny to people to hear me say it, but honestly, that's how I feel," he said.

Both fighters are ahead of Sterling in the rankings
A fight against both Allen and Ortega would make sense for Sterling. While the Brit is ranked seventh in the division, the American is ranked sixth and has two title fights under his belt, against Max Holloway e Alexander Volkanovsky.
A victory would be of fundamental importance for Sterling, who at 35 years of age can maintain his goals of becoming champion in a new category.
“I feel like I shouldn’t have to fight someone lower in the rankings after being 1-1 and losing to a guy that people say will be the next champion, in a fight that a lot of people still think I won,” concluded the athlete.
