During an interview with Daniel Cormier on a program on the North American TV channel ESPN, the current Ultimate lightweight champion (up to 70,3 kg) guaranteed that his performance in the rematch will be impressive, citing the Armenian's confrontation with Charles of the Bronx No. UFC 300, in April this year.
“In the first fight, I didn’t know his background. He’s tough, that’s why it bothered me, but now I know everything he can do. Charles (Oliveira) almost finished him in every round. With a guillotine and a triangle. It was very close, but I think I have a better chance,” said the champion.

Fight could be historic for Makhachev
If you win Arman Tsarukyan for the second time, Islam makhachev will stand out as the champion with the most defenses in the history of the lightweight category (up to 70,3 kg). In addition, it would be the fighter's 15th consecutive victory, which would tie with Kamaru Usman and would be second only to Anderson Silva, with 16.
The Russian's last performance was at UFC 302, in June of this year. On that occasion, he successfully defended his title against Dustin poirier, finishing the challenger with a triangle choke in the fifth round.
