Carlos Prates revealed, in a video recently posted on his YouTube channel, that he was contacted to fight with Vincent Luque. The 'Silent Assassin' had his clash with Nick Diaz canceled and, without Prates, the opponent was Themba Gorimbo. The Zimbabwean was defeated by submission.

Then, 'Nightmare' received an offer to take on Shavkat Rakhomonov. The Kazakh would fight for the welterweight belt (up to 77kg.) against Belal Muhammad |, but the champion was pulled from the card due to an injury. In the end, the opponent was Ian Gary, defeated by decision.

Carlos Prates could not accept any of the proposals because of the foot injury, a consequence of the last presentation, in ufc vegas 100. On that occasion, the Brazilian fought in the main fight against Neil Magny and knocked out his rival at the end of the first round.

“When I got off the plane in Brazil, here (pointing to the sole of his foot) everything was purple. Then the guys called me to fight now, on the 7th (of December). First they offered me the Vincent Luque, because a video of the Nick Diaz crazy and then he left the fight. Then I said I would see and that I would talk to the doctor. At that point we hadn't seen about the foot or anything yet" he said Carlos Prates on your channel.

“Two hours later, they called and talked about fighting Shavkat. I said, ‘Wow, bro!’ Then we saw my foot, it was fucked up. But I think I did well not to fight. First of all, my foot was messed up. I was going to kick him twice… I was going to keep kicking him, but I don’t know if it would have hurt that much.” he said.
