One of the most impressive careers in all of MMA may be coming to an end. According to Dustin poirier, he and the UFC are very close to announcing the fighter's next fight, which according to the former interim lightweight champion (up to 70,3 kg), will be the last of his illustrious career.

Even if briefly, the American stated that the official announcement is close, during an interview with Daniel Cormier on the program 'Good Guy/Bad Guy', on the North American TV channel ESPN.
“The UFC and I are close to making it happen (working out the details of the next fight). I hope to have some news for you soon,” said the Diamond.
The American's last performance was at UFC 302, in June of this year. He challenged Islam makhachev for the world title in the category and despite putting on a great fight, he was finished in the fifth round with a triangle choke.

In total, Poirier had three opportunities to become linear champion, losing to Khabib Nurmagomedov e Charles of the Bronx, in addition to the most recent setback for the current belt holder. Recently, the Russian declared that his former opponent, as well as other fighters, should retire.
