Recently dominated by names like Max Holloway and Alexander Volkanovski , the new generation of UFC featherweights (up to 65,7 kg) has definitively arrived. Among the top names today is Movsar Evloev . With 19 wins and no losses, the Russian defeated Aljamain Sterling earlier this month and intends to return to action within the next 60 days.

A Muslim, Evloev will spend Ramadan between the end of February and the beginning of March 2025. Therefore, willing to optimize the remaining time, the fighter declared that his return should happen in January or the following month.

“I’m good, I feel amazing. I’m still waiting for news about my next fight, but nothing yet. So maybe next week they’ll do something for me because I need to fight before Ramadan. We have January, February, so we’ll see,” the athlete told TMZ Sports, also saying he believes in a rematch between Ilia Topuria and Alexander Volkanovski for the world title.

Among the upcoming Ultimate events, UFC 312 , to be held in Sydney, Australia, is attracting attention. The card, scheduled for February 9th, is not yet complete. Therefore, it's possible to anticipate Evloev's participation. More recently, Diego Lopes challenged Alexander Volkanovski , suggesting a pay-per-view event as the venue for the fight.

Diego Lopes ' UFC debut was marked by an intense confrontation with Evloev at UFC 288. The Brazilian accepted the fight with only a few days' notice, following the injury of Bryce Mitchell , the undefeated fighter's original opponent.

Despite being forced to defend himself from several submission attempts throughout the 15-minute fight, the Russian emerged victorious by unanimous decision. The Brazilian is currently ranked third in the category, while Evloev is ranked fourth.
