Pablo Marçal mentions 'Ultra Man' and downplays Popó in boxing: 'It's not like that anymore'

After defeats at the polls in São Paulo, Pablo Marçal seems confident about the possible fight against Acelino Popó Freitas. The two are set to face each other in Boxing, at Fight Music Show (FMS), next year, which should take place at Allianz Parque, Palmeiras' stadium. Despite this, the president of the event, Mamá Brito, has not yet released further details or the date of the possible match.

But while nothing is certain, Pablo Marçal has been 'poking the bear with a short stick', provoking the four-time world boxing champion on social media. The influencer and businessman mentioned that Popó has never faced an 'Iron Man', a long-distance Triathlon event that combines Swimming, Cycling and Running, in addition to downplaying the boxer's current ability.

“I don’t think Popó has ever fought an Iron Man. In fact, we’ve fought Iron Man twice, but I don’t think he’s ever fought an Ultra Man with ultra gas. It won’t be the way he’s imagining it, no. But I’m not afraid, no. The worst that will happen is that he’ll fall there (in the ring). Judging by the fight I saw of him with the Argentine (Jorge El Chino), he’s not like that anymore,” he said.

Pablo Marçal has already competed in Triathlon events, but never ventured into the noble art. Boxing legend Popó is the big star of the FMS, where he faced the comedian Whindersson Nunes, José Pele Landy, Junior Dublê, Kleber Bambam and finally the Argentine Jorge El Chino. With the exception of the draw with Whindersson, all the other opponents were defeated by the boxing idol.

The fight between Pablo Marçal and Popó has been rumored for some time, but this year the businessman and influencer had to fulfill a political agenda when he ran for Mayor of São Paulo. Marçal finished the electoral race in third place, with 1,7 million votes.
