It seems that Colby Covington has already recovered from the beating he took from Joaquin Buckley at UFC Tampa , which took place last Saturday (14), in the USA. Talking to his fans on his YouTube channel, 'Chaos' took up Chael Sonnen 's cause and criticized Gilbert Durinho's attitude for leaking his longtime friend's phone number. The former interim welterweight champion (up to 77kg) even offered to settle the score with the Brazilian in the octagon.
The story goes like this: Sonnen, who was Covington's main coach in his last fight, made a statement discussing the possibilities for Joaquin Buckley after UFC Tampa . Chael said a fight between the 'Knockout Man' and Burns would be interesting, but insinuated that the Brazilian was retired because he hadn't been fighting. Annoyed by the 'American Gangster's' statement, Gilbert gave a sharp reply and, in doing so, leaked Sonnen's phone number , which led to him receiving numerous calls from haters.

When asked what he thought of this situation, Colby fired back.
“Man, that’s disgusting, man. That’s despicable. That’s not right, man. That’s really a mess. Now he’s getting, you know, tons of people calling him with stupid shit, you know, saying stupid pranks, and it’s just, it’s a safety concern. So, Gilbert, that was very immature. Are we in high school, man? Like, be a grown man, man. You have kids, you have a family. Why would you do that to another family, man? So, it’s really a mess that Gilbert did that to Uncle Chael,” declared 'Chaos'. (see video below)
Colby even threatened Durinho, saying he intends to take justice into his own hands inside the octagon against the Brazilian.
“Uncle Chael, if you want me to take care of this inside the octagon, I will bring justice for us, I will bring justice to Gilbert’s face. I will make sure he never shows up in America again, because I beat him badly,” he concluded, exalted.
However, Sonnen turned lemons into lemonade. After Gilbert Burns leaked his phone number on 'X' (formerly Twitter), Chael went to his YouTube channel and answered a fan Q&A session for almost an hour – even getting an announcement from his sponsor. The back-and-forth between Sonnen and Burns is nothing new for those who closely follow MMA. The former fighter has always been known for his provocations, especially when the subject involved Brazilian fighters, with whom he had a rivalry built up over the years.

It's not true when Sonnen says that Durinho hasn't been fighting, as he's had two fights this year in the UFC. However, the 'American Gangster' likely 'suggested' the Brazilian's retirement due to his current poor form. Durinho has lost his last three fights against champion Belal Muhammad , Jack Della Maddalena , and Sean Brady , respectively. In the UFC since 2014, the Brazilian has a record of 22 wins and eight losses.
