Four seconds. This was the duration of Robelis Despaigne 's debut at Karate Combat 51. On the night of last Thursday (19), in Miami, in the United States, the Cuban giant, former UFC fighter, needed only one kick and one punch to knock out the Pole Dominik Jedrzejczyk and register the fastest knockout in the event's history so far.
Three Brazilians were also in action and closed the event with a score of 2 to 1. Multiple world champion in Muay Thai and kickboxing, Cosmo Alexandre made his debut against Spaniard Igor de Castañeda, in the co-main event of the night. Right at the beginning, the Spaniard landed a powerful left cross. Alexandre was swayed, but managed to recover and scored with good knees and elbows.

The second round was lukewarm and things only heated up again in the third round, when the Brazilian landed powerful low kicks and knees. Even so, the judges declared it a draw and, according to Karate Combat rules, the fight would go to an extra round. However, the Spaniard claimed to have broken his right hand, was unable to continue and the victory by technical knockout was declared for the athlete from São Paulo.
Also a UFC fighter, Rafael Alves delivered another solid and explosive performance, securing his third consecutive victory and a likely direct shot at the welterweight title (up to 75kg). With a varied arsenal of flashy kicks, feints, dodges, and precise strikes, the Paraense fighter easily dominated all three rounds against American Khama Worthy , who showed a strong survival instinct and ultimately lost by points.
The first Brazilian to enter the pit, Rio de Janeiro native Adam Ramos faced Australian Jayden Eynaud in the heavyweight division. After the first minute, marked by study on both sides, Eynaud landed a strong mid-range kick. He then feinted the same blow, but changed stance and fired a powerful right cross that hit the Brazilian squarely in the chin, who hit the canvas already unconscious.
