Patrício Pitbull asks PFL owner to leave Bellator: “I want to leave immediately”

"I want to leave immediately." It couldn't be more direct. This was the message posted by Patrício Pitbull on his 'X' account (formerly Twitter) addressed to the PFL boss, Donn Davis. The demand comes after the Brazilian's coach, Eric Albarracin, told SUPER LUTAS exclusively in Tampa, Florida (USA), that the fighter's destination should be the UFC.

Pitbull has been publicly asking for his release from his contract with Bellator since last month. Albarracin also made the demand on the SUPER LUTAS microphone saying “let Pitbull go”. The 37-year-old from Rio Grande do Norte is the featherweight champion (up to 65,7 kg) in the organization. The fighter's reign has lasted eleven years.

Understand

The main reason for Patrício Pitbull 's dissatisfaction is the lack of fights. Other Bellator athletes, including his teammate Leandro Higo , also share the same complaint. Higo was scheduled to face Patchy Mix for the bantamweight title (up to 61,2kg) this month, but the fight was postponed. The next event, planned for January, does not include Mix vs. Higo on the card.

Donn Davis tweeted that his team has done the best they can in 2024 to schedule fights for the Bellator roster. Pitbull responded with two posts saying he wants to resolve the situation this week.
