The rivalry between Gilbert Burns and Colby Covington has taken a new turn. The verbal confrontation began after the American criticized the Brazilian for publicly disclosing Chael Sonnen 's phone number , something that happened after the former fighter commented that he was retiring. Burns' response was immediate and direct, aiming to challenge "Chaos" to a fight in the UFC.
In a post on social media, Durinho did not hesitate to provoke his rival. He mentioned April as a possibility and even gave Covington an ultimatum to schedule the fight.

Durinho vs Covington
The Brazilian's provocation was a response to the accusations made by 'Caos', which he classified as immature and irresponsible. The American was emphatic in saying that Durinho's behavior, in leaking Sonnen's phone number, was 'disgusting' and put the safety of his family at risk.
“Man, that’s disgusting, man. That’s despicable. Now he’s getting, you know, tons of people calling him with stupid shit, saying stupid pranks. That’s a safety concern. Gilbert, that was so immature. We’re in high school? Be a grown man, man. You have kids, you have a family. Why would you do that to another family?” Covington said.
Gilbert Burns , 38, has 22 wins and eight losses in his UFC career. He has beaten big names like Tyron Woodley , Stephen Thompson , and Neil Magny , but has lost his last three fights.
Colby Covington , for his part, is 36 years old, with 17 wins and five losses. The American 'closed' the 2024 season with a loss to Joaquin Buckley and managed only one victory in his last four appearances.
