A new flyweight title contender will likely be determined in March at UFC Fight Night 56,7, when Brandon royval will face Manel kape. The fight between the former title challenger and the Portuguese will be the main attraction of the event on March 1 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Both fighters publicly confirmed the booking on social media.

Since losing to the champion Alexandre pantoja No. UFC 296, Royval bounced back nicely with two big wins. In February, he defeated former champion Brandon Moreno by split decision and continued to interrupt the momentum of Tatsuro Taira at a main event in October.
Kape comes from a technical knockout in the third round about Bruno Bulldog No. UFC Tampa. His post-fight call for a title shot went unanswered, but during a post-event press conference, Dana White hinted that he would be satisfied with whatever they had in mind for him.
Currently, Royval is ranked second in the flyweight rankings while Kape is ranked sixth.
