After Tyson Fury was defeated by Olesksandr Usyk for the second time last Saturday (21), Francis Ngannou commented on his thoughts regarding the fight and its result. For the current PFL heavyweight champion (currently 120,2 kg.), the score of 116 to 112, given by the three judges, does not reflect the balance seen throughout the 12 rounds of combat.

“The fight was very close. I would have scored the fight closer than that. Maybe Usyk could have still won. I mean, at the end of the fight, I wasn’t sure if anyone was the winner, because anyone could have been a winner. From my scorecard, it was closer than that,” Ngannou said in an interview with US YouTube channel Pro Boxing Fans.

Regarding the result, the Cameroonian fighter was resistant to the idea of using resources through Artificial Intelligence to analyze fights. It is worth mentioning that last Saturday's fight had a score determined by AI, which scored the fight 118 to 112 in favor of Usyk.
“AI may be smart, but it doesn’t understand the sport properly. It’s a human sport, not a mechanical sport. I think AI, regardless of everything, is still a machine that operates automatically and scores based on some (things it can’t see). I don’t think AI has all the specific data to score a boxing match,” said the former UFC heavyweight champion (up to 120,2 kg).
Francis Ngannou is interested in facing Fury again
When asked about the future of Fury's boxing career, Ngannou reaffirmed his interest in facing the Englishman, who controversially beat him in the Cameroonian's debut in the noble art, held in October 2023, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
"What I want to see now is Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou . That's all that matters to me," the fighter concluded.
